Description Safe and Drug Free School and Communities (SDFSC) services youth aged 10-17, primarily of African-American and Hispanic heritage, providing peer education with outreach and bilingual services for high risk youths. New Ventures is designed to cultivate positive self-images in primarily African American youth ages 14-21. Youth are provided the opportunity to gain exposure to cultural experiences, develop leadership skills and broaden their scope of educational and/or career paths. Activities include; two-hour weekly training sessions, job development, cultural/educational field trips, and college assistance. The scope of activities also include individual meetings with students and parental involvement.
