CategoriesCounseling/Mental Health
Crisis Intervention
Description Addresses the difficulties encountered by Southeast Asians who have been victims of domestic violence, sexual assault or child abuse. The difficulties of these victims are losing their (or individual) trust and security towards their abusers. These victims become angry, upset, hostile and very depressed towards themselves and the perpetrators. They feel ashamed among friends, relatives and neighbors. Most of the time they feel frightened if they try to take any actions or ask help concerning their problems. Finally, it is very difficult to encounter help from others, and this is because of the culture or traditions that they are born into practicing.
